6. I disagree with this statement because I, Daniel Blake was not made to make a profit it was made for political reasons. It went on to make an incredible profile and went to win the Palm d'Or at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. The marketing strategy was very clever since it needed less money and it helped to attract a huge audience to this movie. So this shows if a independent film gets marketed correctly it can go on to be very popular. Another reason is that very one starts of from scratch just like blockbuster did so any movie can get as big as a blockbuster. Overall, I, Daniel Blake and Doctor Strange made a similar profit to each other.
This shows low-budget films can compete with Hollywood blockbusters.
I agree with this statement because Doctor Strange has a lot of star power and big stars were casted to draw an audience in. Another reason is since Doctor Strange has a high budget they can spend a lot on marketing and promoting so this will drew a bigger audience then what low budget films can do since they have a limited budget. There were a lot of GUI effects used and the devices were far more advanced so this get the audience to enjoy the movie which would get better ratings and the audience will start to rise far more while I, Daniel Blake is a simple movie which will not get as much ratings. Doctor Strange was promoted in a way millions of people can see the it. Like for example, the trailer, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter. The final reason is Doctor Strange profited $677 million while I, Daniel Blake profited only $15 million.
