1) What key conventions of an advert can you find and what are the connotations of each one?
The slogan- "I'm lovin' it" This is very catchy and gets in the audience's head.
The colour scheme- red, yellow and white - recognisable from McDonalds, creating a brand identity.
The logo- When a person sees the logo then sees a McDonalds restaurant they will easily recognise it. 
2) For each convention, write about how this appeals to a target audience. 
The logo appeals to a young audience because of the bright colour and is very iconic.
The slogan appeals to everyone since it gets inside their head and easy to remember.
The colour scheme appeals to a younger audience too since it is very bright and vibrant.
