Coursework Statement of intent (updated)

Logline - Very innocent as of a first impression. But woefully deceiving...
In this project, I am going to create a website homepage to promote my upcoming low budget horror film. This film will successfully appeal to horror fans since I applied a new concept and idea to my movie. I used the ideas of Shining and Jigsaw and combined them together with a few of my own personalised touches too. This can attract the fan base of these 2 franchises. Even though this is an independent production it will bring in fans from a wider community.
The setting will be in a normal everyday household and the lighting used would be a pitch-black area that shows a little bit of the area is revealed by a torch to make it claustrophobic. I will use a low camera shot to make the characters look vulnerable. This may give an uneasy vibe to the audience. I will use a close-up shot on the demon/devil and the demon will have eye contact with the camera. This will be used to try create a creepy connection with the audience and the demon. The editing will be very fast-paced with quick camera movement. This is used to create thrill, excitement and fear. This has similar conventions of action movies which can attract a even wider audience.
The costumes will be ordinary clothes like jackets, hoodies etc which gives a more personal feel towards the film. Fake blood will be used a lot to show the character dying, it is also commonly used to show injuries being inflicted. This is an iconic horror convention that most people think of.
Representation: The protagonist of the film will be a teenager mom who just gave birth to a baby. She is not very strong or brave which fits with the typical stereotype unfortunately but she gains confidence overtime on the film. This is also used to subvert the stereotype of men being the protagonist. The use of the evil baby character is used to subvert the stereotype of babies being innocent and sweet. This shocks the viewer and creates an element of surprise. The characters will all be different races to subvert all white and black stereotypes. The movie will include all- female, male, children, LGBTQ and etc. To allow diversity and all races including Asian, Black and etc to allow an even more diverse community amongst the movie. This can attract everyone of all races, cultures and sexuality so the target audience is much wider.
The director of the film is a very young Mexican male who is directing his first movie. This is to try challenge the stereotype of a older and more experienced director. This also allows a fresh new perspective to a horror movie through a upcoming director and new cast.
